Fall semester at Blinn

My Blinn Fall semester of 2017 was great it was everything I thought it was going to be. The things that went well is that most of my instructors were pretty nice I also had friends to show me around and get to know Blinn.   What didn’t go well is that I dropped a class because I was too stressed I had two jobs and full time at blinn! I succeeded in my math class because I love math its just so easy for me I also loved that I had so much free time I have to be in one class for so long. I failed in my art history class. That was the class I dropped. You might think how could she drop that class if art is easy? Well not for me I hate it and I strongly dislike history too so once you put those two together it’s a disaster. I know I could have probably done better and actually tried and passed but I didn’t so that didn’t go so well. I loved that most of my teachers they were pretty lineant with homework. Sometimes having to ma...

Article and discussion

I chose to write about Maecyn's article "The NFL and President trump regarding Kneeling protest during the national anthem". In Maecyns article she says "Trump had made a speech on Friday October 6 in Alabama when he stated that the NFL team owners should fire any player that knees during an anthem that was not at all the right thing to say Trump continued this through Sunday when he put a post on social media about boycotting the NFL in my personal opinion in my personal opinion it makes me furious to see this on the news and on social media".     I disagree with Maecyn on this because what trump said wasn't meant to be about "black power" it is about freedom of speech. It is about what the flag represents. I agree it was wrong of him but I think it is everyones right to do as they please.

One of my favorite artists is Kirko Bangz. I love almost all his music, I can connect to it emotionally  of it all his music connects to people emotionally everything he says in my eyes is real.              For example   Kirko Bangz Ft. Paul Wall - My Life  e   "   [Official Music Video] "       When he says " Im superman to the young man"  it uses a metaphor. He doesn't really mean he's superman it means the young man looks up too him.     Another artist I relate to is "  Nipsey Hussle - State of Mind ft. Y2 "    When he says " two loose lips will sink a ship or break a levi like new orleans"  it uses a simile by comparing the two sentences. So basically what he means is the if you go out telling your business or talking about other people it will come back to you with so many bad things. " Break a levi like new orlean...

At Least 59 Killed in Las Vegas Shooting Rampage, more than 500 others Injured By The Washington Post               I choose "The Las Vegas Shooting" At Least 59 killed in Las Vegas shooting rampage, more than 500 others injured"  https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/10/02/police-shut-down-part-of-las-vegas-strip-due-to-shooting/?utm_term=.08c9ef751610   by Lynh Bul, Matt Zapotsky, Devlin Barrett and Mark Berman. The authors subjective discussion to this topic is that this has been the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history. Stephan Paddock killed 59 people and injured 500 others. He did it all by himself he had no help from anyone. According to the writers all his guns were legal he bought them within a period of years. He did not buy them all in one state it was all in different location. The people whom he bought them from said he never acted suspicious of...

Major Exam #1

For our first exam I would have to say it was not that hard. Every question that was on the test you pretty much went over with us. You also gave us a review sheet so we could study on our own. The review sheet really helped a lot. Many teachers do not give them to us they just tell us to study because we have an exam coming up so I was relieved that you gave us one! My boyfriend helped me prepare for the test we made flash cards and he helped me study when ever I got one wrong he would start all over again. One thing I would do different for my next test is study a little more I don't think I studied enough. Everything that you told us that was going to be on the test was there but I didn't know how to answer some of them because I was not that well prepared. The difficult part for me was naming the three types of figurative language I knew what they were because we reviewed them but my mind just went blank at that moment. The easy part was defining a...
A Portrait of My Life in Words        Hello my name is Rachel Rodriguez. I moved to College Station two years ago. I was a junior in High School when I moved. My oldest brother angel has been taking care of me since then. I graduated from College Station High School in May.        I was born and raised in Mission Texas. I am into boxing. I have four brothers and I was growing up they were all in boxing. My uncle had a boxing gym and he was their coach. My brothers would fight in tournaments and I would always go with them to watch them fight. As they grew older they got tired of going to the gym. So my dad came of with the idea of making a boxing gym at home. We lived in the middle of the city so there was a lot of people that would pass through my house. We also had an acre of land so it was pretty big. Soon after a month or two the boxing ring was...

Is Pointing A Gun To Anyone Ok?

"Charles Blow, in his essay "Library Visit, Then Held At Gunpoint, published in The New York Times, stood out to me because, it got my attention it interest me with the first sentence I read. I understood what Charles Blow was arguing. He was defending his son. Even though the cop did not touch him he pointed a gun to his face when he followed all his directions. There was no reason for him to get is gun out. Charles Blow says,"Why was a gun drawn first? Why was he not immediately told why he was being detained? Why not ask for ID first?" All these questions he asked were real helpful for me to understand what he was trying to prove. Another thing Charles Blow says is "Now don't get me wrong if indeed my son matched the description of a suspect, I would have no problem with him being questioned appropriately. School is a community, his home away from home, and he would have appreciated reasonable efforts to keep it safe. The stop is not the problem...
